Connection. Dignity. Respect.

Kabul Social is founded on the stories and strengths of the people of Afghanistan.

Our mission is to use the universal love language of food to provide connection and compassion between our guests in Sydney and families in Kabul who need the support.

Currently, Afghanistan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises and the united voices of our staff and our community have rallied together to provide employment, education, and immediate responses to the challenges that are currently being faced.

While many of our team have never worked before they are all motivated to not only support their families here, but also driven to create change and improve the outcome for those in need, both in Australia and back home.

Their incredible stories, strength, and the importance of connection through food is at the centre of Kabul Social and you’re invited to help create the change the world needs.

Thank You. Dining at Kabul Social provides employment for Afghan people seeking Asylum and two meals to those who need it.

Giving in Afghanistan

Mahboba’s Promise is an Australian non-profit organisation dedicated to helping disadvantaged women and children in Afghanistan.

Mahboba’s Promise was founded by Mahboba Rawi, an Afghan refugee and now an Australian citizen, who has experienced first-hand the effects of a country torn apart by years of war and civil unrest.

With Mahboba’s intimate knowledge of Afghanistan, Mahboba’s Promise was able to respond effectively and flexibly, to directly meet the needs of the country’s orphans and widows. Since then, Mahboba’s Promise has established schools, shelters and health clinics across Afghanistan and provided numerous sponsorships to widows and orphans in need.

It goes without saying that memories are created around the dining table. Here at Kabul Social, we will work with Mahboba’s Promise to provide widows with the ingredients needed to cook for their children for a month. This way, we give mums the chance to bond and connect with their families without it feeling like charity.
